Injuries and IR Tracking
How Two Deep stays accurate, quick, and efficient with injury news across all 170 NFL and college teams from The Wire to every depth chart and roster.
Take a look at Lane Kiffin's official availability report ahead of
LSU's game at
Ole Miss this weekend, and you'll gain an appreciation of both the importance of injury reports and the importance of treating them with the right level of respect.
Tigers QB
Sam Leavitt was listed as Doubtful on Wednesday night, and while many believe that's simply gamesmanship from the mother of all gamesmen, it's an official report, and it carries official implications.
Within seconds of the first report, Two Deep added a nice little D next to Leavitt's name.
In fact, across both College and NFL teams, all 170 of them, any official availability or injury report almost instantly updates the player on The Wire, and on the team's own depth chart. If the player is simply Questionable or Doubtful, you'll find an amber Q or D next to the player's name. If they're out, you'll see their name change from black to red with an official O.
And, of course, in the NFL, that O could progress to IR if the team makes that move concrete.
And here's what's great about Two Deep, if a player is truly out, we'll hide them from the depth chart in the default view. Want to see what the depth should look like if life was fair and injuries didn't exist? Simply click or tap the Unavailable toggle from "Hide" to "Show" to see the full strength view.
Of course, there are limits, and if a player is ruled out for the entire season, we'll keep them on the roster, either in the reserves section for NFL, or the main section for college.
Finally, in those rare times where we know an injury has occurred, but we don't yet know the full extent, you'll find a red cross icon next to the player's name as we listen to our sources and work to solidify the damage.
Thanks for reading, stay healthy, and know your team's two deep on Two Deep.
