Nick Zakelj is a left guard for the San Francisco 49ers entering his fifth season. The 6'6", 325-pound lineman from Broadview Heights, Ohio, played college football at Fordham, where he appeared in 37 games over five years (2017–21). Originally a linebacker in high school, Zakelj converted to offensive line upon joining Fordham as a zero-start recruit. He earned All-Patriot-League honors three consecutive seasons, including first-team selections in 2019 and 2021. As a junior, he started all 12 games at left tackle for an offense ranked first in the Patriot League at 357.2 yards per game. The 49ers selected him in the sixth round (187th overall) of the 2022 NFL Draft.
