John Buetow is a 5'8", 213-pound running back for the Virginia Tech Hokies. A redshirt sophomore from Irmo, South Carolina, Buetow attended Dutch Fork High School, where he won a 5-A state championship as a sophomore and earned All-State honors as a senior linebacker with 100 tackles and 21 tackles for loss, including 17 sacks. He also compiled 96 tackles and 15 tackles for loss as a junior. Buetow appeared in two games during the 2024 season while redshirting and saw no action in 2025. He is majoring in finance.
