Matt Ludwig is a true freshman tight end for Texas Tech standing 6'4" and weighing 255 pounds. The Billings, Montana native attended Billings West High School, where he was named MaxPreps Montana High School Player of the Year after recording 50 receptions for 736 yards and 10 touchdowns as a senior, while adding 137 rushing yards and seven scores. He earned All-State honors three times and was invited to the 2026 Navy All-American Bowl. Ludwig committed to Texas Tech on December 12, 2025, as a mid-year enrollee after initially signing with Michigan. A consensus four-star recruit ranked as high as No. 8 among tight ends nationally, he wears No. 5 to honor his late brother Nicko. Ludwig is a marketing major for the Red Raiders.
