Corey Platt Jr. is a sixth-year senior linebacker from Little Rock, Arkansas, who transferred to Texas Tech for the 2026 season after three years at Tulane and two campaigns at Houston. At Little Rock Christian Academy, he earned first-team All-State honors twice and was a finalist for the Landers Award as a senior. Platt played in 28 games prior to joining the Red Raiders, recording 642 defensive snaps and 211 special teams snaps. During his 2025 season at Houston, he appeared in 12 of 13 games and compiled 40 tackles with 5.0 for a loss, 3.0 sacks, and one forced fumble, earning Comeback Player of the Year Award semifinalist honors after returning from back-to-back season-ending injuries. He reunites with Texas Tech defensive coordinator Shiel Wood, who held the same role at both Tulane and Houston.
