Austin Romaine, a 6'2" linebacker from Hillsboro, Missouri, transferred to Texas Tech after three seasons at Kansas State. At the Wildcats, he appeared in 34 games with 26 starts, recording 184 tackles (110 solo), 17.5 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, three forced fumbles, a fumble recovery and an interception across 1,458 defensive snaps. In 2024, he earned All-Big 12 second team honors with 96 tackles in 13 games. His 2025 junior campaign was cut short by injury after nine starts, during which he compiled 66 tackles (41 solo), 7.0 tackles for loss, a shared sack, an interception, fumble recovery and two pass breakups. He ranked sixth among Big 12 inside linebackers with a 76.5 Pro Football Focus grade despite missing the final three games.
