Braylan McDonald is a safety from Terrell, Texas, who attended Lancaster High School in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. A consensus three-star recruit, he initially committed to Washington State before joining Texas Tech in June 2024. During his redshirt freshman season in 2025, McDonald appeared in two games during non-conference play against Arkansas-Pine Bluff and Kent State while serving primarily as a scout team member. At Lancaster, he played multiple positions including wide receiver, defensive back, linebacker, and kicker, and also competed in track and field. McDonald is a leadership studies major at Texas Tech.
