Malachi Nelson, a 6'3" quarterback from Los Alamitos, California, was the nation's No. 1 recruit in the class of 2023 and a unanimous five-star prospect. He began his college career at USC in 2023, appearing in one game, before transferring to Boise State in 2024 where he saw action in three games. Nelson moved to UTEP for the 2025 season, appearing in six games with six starts. Over his college career through 2025, he has completed 117-of-210 passes for 1,291 yards and eight touchdowns across 10 games.
