Jordan Avinger is a linebacker from Orangeburg, South Carolina, who attended Orangeburg Wilkinson High School. He earned All-Region honors during his prep career. As a junior, he recorded 50 tackles, six tackles for loss, and a forced fumble. In his senior season through seven games, he posted 38 tackles and an interception. Avinger was a three-sport athlete in high school, also competing in basketball and baseball. The 6'1", 221-pound true freshman wears No. 42 for the North Carolina Tar Heels.
