Broden Schmidt is a 6'2", 227-pound linebacker for the New Mexico Lobos wearing number 34. The Tucson, Arizona native lettered at Mica Mountain High School, where he earned First Team All-Conference and Conference Defensive Player of the Year honors as a senior. Schmidt also received All-Region and Region Defensive Player of the Year recognition after recording 159 tackles, 18 tackles for loss, three sacks, seven pass breakups, and four forced fumbles. He scored on a scoop-and-score play during his prep career and helped Mica Mountain secure back-to-back state titles. Schmidt is returning to the Lobos roster and remains undecided on his major.
