Ethan Stendel is a sophomore linebacker for the Minnesota Golden Gophers who hails from Caledonia, Minnesota. A consensus three-star recruit, he appeared in 11 games during his freshman season in 2025, primarily on special teams, and recorded one tackle. At Caledonia High School, Stendel was a multi-sport athlete who earned All-District and Three Rivers Conference defensive player of the year honors as a senior, posting 57 tackles, three interceptions, and two forced fumbles on defense. He also played quarterback, throwing for over 1,246 yards and 11 touchdowns while adding 601 rushing yards and seven scores.
