Darius Grimes is a 6'2", 221-pound weakside linebacker from Upper Marlboro, Maryland, who attended Frederick Douglass High School. In high school, he earned 2022-23 MPSSAA First Team All-State Defense and 2022-23 PG County Defensive Player of the Year honors. Grimes redshirted in 2023 before appearing in four games as a redshirt freshman in 2024, totaling four tackles and 1.0 tackle for loss. In 2025, his redshirt sophomore season, he saw action in all 12 games and recorded 11 total tackles, including seven solo stops, while earning team captain honors for the Rutgers game and Special Teams Player of the Year recognition.
