Daniel Wingate is a 6'5", 230-pound senior linebacker for the Maryland Terrapins from Bowie, Maryland. A three-star recruit in the 2023 class, Wingate appeared in 11 games as a freshman and totaled seven tackles. In his sophomore year, he played all 12 games and registered 50 tackles with 6.5 tackles for loss. During the 2025 season, Wingate started all 12 games and led Maryland with 102 tackles, the first Terp to reach that mark since 2018. He added 62 solo tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, one interception returned for a touchdown, and two quarterback hurries. Wingate earned Honorable Mention All-Big Ten honors and was named the team's 2025 MVP.
