David Fason is a 6'0", 268-pound defensive lineman from Marion, Iowa, who attended Prairie High School. As a senior, he recorded 71.5 tackles including 34 tackles for loss and 15 QB sacks while also earning first-team all-state honors on the defensive line. He posted 10 pancake blocks, five forced fumbles, one interception, and one blocked punt that year. Fason also contributed on offense with 29 receptions for 452 yards and two touchdowns, and punted 21 times for 870 yards. A two-time all-district selection and team captain, he lettered in football, basketball, and baseball. Fason returns to the Iowa Hawkeyes roster as a defensive lineman wearing number 42.
