Bryce Hawthorne is a 6'3", 298-pound right defensive tackle from Osseo, Minnesota who transferred to Iowa from South Dakota State. At South Dakota State, he appeared in 14 games in 2024, recording 22 tackles (nine solo) with 5.5 for loss and two quarterback hurries, earning MVFC All-Newcomer Team honors. In his first season with the Hawkeyes, Hawthorne played in all 13 games, tallying 15 tackles (eight solo) with three for loss totaling 10 yards. He recorded his first career interception in a 37-0 shutout at Wisconsin and posted a season-high three solo tackles in a 41-3 victory over Minnesota.
