The 6'3", 305-pound lineman attended Montana State (2021–23) and Washington (2024), appearing in 43 total games across both programs. Over his college career, he recorded 141 tackles, 22.0 tackles for loss, 14.0 sacks, 3 pass deflections, 2 forced fumbles and 1 fumble recovery. In 2024 at Washington, Valdez started all 13 games with 49 tackles, 4.5 TFLs, 2.0 sacks and 1 PD. He was signed by San Francisco as an undrafted free agent and holds a one-year contract.
