Matthew Golden is a 5'11", 195-pound right wide receiver from Houston who played college football at Houston (2022–23) and Texas (2024). Green Bay selected him 23rd overall in the 2025 NFL Draft, making him the first Packers first-round receiver since Javon Walker in 2002 and the first Texas player drafted in the first round by Green Bay. Over three collegiate seasons, Golden appeared in 36 games with 33 starts, recording 134 receptions for 1,975 yards and 22 touchdowns. In his 2024 campaign at Texas, he started all 16 games and led the team with 58 catches for 987 yards and nine scores. During his 2025 rookie season, Golden recorded 33 receptions for 445 yards and one touchdown across 49 targets.
