Daniel Whelan is a punter for the Green Bay Packers who stands 6'5" and weighs 210 pounds. The UC Davis product joined New Orleans as an undrafted free agent in May 2022 but was released that July. He signed with Green Bay on May 17, 2023, after earning All-XFL honors with the D.C. Defenders, where he ranked third in the league in punting average (45.6). In 2024, Whelan played all 17 games and punted 56 times for 2,582 yards at a 46.1-yard gross average and 40.2-yard net average, ranking third in franchise history in both metrics. He posted 20 punts of 50-plus yards and placed 22 inside the 20, including a career-long 74-yard punt.
