Bio

Sione Vaki is a 5'11", 216-pound running back for the Detroit Lions. The Lions selected him in the 2024 NFL Draft as the first Utah running back in franchise history. During his college career at Utah (2022-23), Vaki played both running back and safety across 26 games with 17 starts. He recorded 42 rushes for 317 yards and two touchdowns at running back, plus 11 receptions for 203 yards and three touchdowns. On defense, he tallied 92 tackles and earned First-Team All-Pac-12 honors at safety in 2023. As a rookie in 2024, Vaki appeared in 16 games, recording six carries for 14 yards, three receptions for 37 yards, and led Detroit with eight special teams tackles, earning 2024 PFWA All-Rookie Team honors as a special teamer.
