Joel Lowenberg is a linebacker for Wake Forest from Chattanooga, Tennessee, where he attended Baylor School. A three-star recruit in the 2025 class, Lowenberg recorded 81 tackles, five tackles-for-loss, and two sacks during his senior year of high school. He also added 19 pressures, one pass breakup, and one interception that season. Lowenberg helped guide Baylor School to an 11-0 record and the TSSAA semifinals as a senior and was named All-East Region as a junior.
