Maddox Marcellus is a 6'2", 232-pound weak-side linebacker from Miami, Florida, who transferred to Virginia from Eastern Kentucky. At EKU, he started all 12 games in 2024, recording 97 total tackles (46 solo) and leading the Colonels in defensive stops. He added one interception, one forced fumble, and recovered a fumble for a 23-yard touchdown against Utah Valley on October 26. Named UAC Defensive Player of the Week on November 4 after nine tackles and an interception versus Tennessee State, Marcellus earned First Team All-UAC honors. He enrolled at Virginia in January 2025 and appeared in the season opener against Coastal Carolina on August 30, registering four tackles, 0.5 sacks, and a pass breakup.
