Owen McCown is a left-handed quarterback who transferred to UTSA from Colorado, where he appeared in four games with three starts as a true freshman. The 6'1", 190-pound signal caller from Rusk, Texas, was a consensus three-star recruit. In 2024, his first season with the Roadrunners, McCown started all 13 games and completed 294 of 467 passes for 3,424 yards with 25 touchdowns, adding 340 rushing yards and three scores. During the 2025 season, he started all 13 contests, completing 277 of 410 passes for 2,995 yards and 30 touchdowns. He recorded two 300-yard passing games and earned multiple weekly honors, including a standout performance against Tulane where he completed 31 of 33 passes for 370 yards and four touchdowns.
