Max Gerlich is a redshirt freshman quarterback for UTSA standing 6'3" and weighing 215 pounds. The Austin, Texas native was a three-star prospect in the 2025 recruiting class. At Anderson High School, Gerlich threw for 3,095 yards and 41 touchdowns on 171-of-270 passing during his 2024 senior season, adding 226 rushing yards and three scores. He posted six 300-yard passing games and a 135.5 quarterback rating, earning District 12-5A Division I Offensive MVP honors. Notable performances included 413 passing yards with five touchdowns against Pflugerville Hendrickson and 338 yards with six touchdowns against Kyle Lehman. Gerlich did not appear in games during the 2025 season.
