Kana'i Lopes is a tight end from Las Vegas, Nevada, who began his high school career at Liberty HS before transferring to St. John Bosco HS in California. As a three-star recruit, he registered 45 tackles and 1.0 tackle for loss in his final prep season, along with a fumble recovery. At Utah, Lopes appeared in four games on special teams in 2024, recording one tackle against BYU. In 2025, he played in all 13 contests primarily on special teams and made two tackles during the Colorado game. Lopes is a returning redshirt sophomore for the Utes.
