Daryl Wayne Barnett Jr. is a 6'2", 195-pound wide receiver from Toledo, Ohio, where he attended Scott High School. At Scott, he earned first-team all-state honors as a junior with 73 receptions, 1,069 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns, and repeated first-team all-district and all-city league selections as a senior. Barnett redshirted in 2024 while retaining freshman eligibility. In 2025, his first year of competition at Toledo, he appeared in 11 games and recorded one reception for 13 yards while earning Academic All-MAC recognition. He is a pre-business major and returning member of the Rockets roster.
