Anthony Simpson, a 5'11" senior wide receiver from Hartford, Connecticut, transferred to Toledo after spending time at Michigan, UMass, and Arizona. At Bloomfield High School, he recorded 92 career receptions for 1,731 yards and 27 touchdowns, earning 2019 Hartford Courant Offensive Player of the Year honors as a senior with 75 catches for 1,249 yards and 19 touchdowns. During his college career, Simpson caught 57 passes for 792 yards and three touchdowns at UMass in 2023, including a career-high 140 receiving yards against Toledo, and earned First-Team All-Independent honors.
