James Simon is a running back for the Texas Longhorns majoring in Economics. A consensus four-star recruit from Calvary Baptist Academy in Shreveport, Louisiana, Simon was ranked as the No. 6 running back prospect nationally by Rivals. In his freshman season (2025), he made his collegiate debut against UTEP on September 13, recording 17 carries for 67 yards and one reception for eight yards. Across three games played, Simon compiled 29 carries for 122 rushing yards and caught three passes for one yard. At the high school level, he recorded 149 carries for 1,280 yards with 16 touchdowns as a senior, adding 21 receptions for 296 yards. Simon was named to the 2025-26 First-Year SEC Academic Honor Roll.
