Hollywood Smothers is a running back from Charlotte, North Carolina, who played college football at Oklahoma and NC State before joining Texas in spring 2026. A four-star recruit in the 2023 class, he appeared in four games as a freshman with the Sooners before transferring to NC State. During his 2024 redshirt freshman season, he played in all 11 games with six starts, accumulating 139 rushing yards on 15 carries against East Carolina. In 2025, he started all 11 games as a sophomore, recording 160 carries for 939 yards and six touchdowns while averaging 5.9 yards per carry. He added 37 receptions for 189 yards and a touchdown and earned First-Team All-ACC honors. Smothers has 26 career games with 17 starts and six 100-yard rushing performances.
