Derrek Cooper is a running back for the Texas Longhorns who hails from Lauderhill, Florida, and attended Chaminade Madonna Prep. At 6'1" and 210 pounds, Cooper was rated a five-star prospect by national outlets and a four-star prospect by recruiting services in the 2026 recruiting class, ranking 99th overall. He was named the No. 1 running back recruit by national outlets and won the 2025 Nat Moore Trophy. As a senior, Cooper carried 94 times for 963 yards and 12 touchdowns while adding six receptions for 89 yards and a touchdown. He also appeared in the 2025 Under Armour All-America Game with four carries for 12 yards and a catch for 31 yards.
