Michael Henderson III is a redshirt freshman running back from Dallas, Texas who attended Wylie East High School in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. A consensus three-star recruit, he committed to Texas Tech on January 23, 2024, after receiving his offer on Christmas Day 2023. Henderson transitioned from defense to the running back room late in preseason camp during the 2025 season and appeared in the first two games against Arkansas-Pine Bluff and Kent State, recording one carry for minus-2 yards. He was recognized as the offensive scout team player of the week following Texas Tech's season-opening victory.
