A consensus three-star recruit, he was ranked among the top interior offensive linemen nationally by major recruiting services. During his redshirt freshman campaign in 2025, Hendrix appeared in three games and logged 49 offensive snaps while allowing no pressures according to Pro Football Focus, earning a 74.8 overall grade versus Oklahoma State.
