Elias Gillen is a 6'6", 315-pound left tackle for Texas Tech. The Rapid City, South Dakota native attended Stevens High School, where he was named to the 2024 Class 11AAA All-State first team while allowing zero sacks and recording 65 pancakes. Gillen also competed in track and field, winning state titles in shot put (59-1.25") and discus (173-10) as a senior, with a personal best discus throw of 176 feet, 8 inches. A consensus three-star recruit, he committed to Texas Tech on June 21, 2024. During the 2025 season, Gillen redshirted as a true freshman and appeared in one game, the season-opening victory over Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
