Michael Short is a 6'3", 235-pound linebacker from Charlotte, NC who attended Mallard Creek High School. A three-star prospect, Short played college football at North Carolina before transferring to TCU. During his 2023 freshman year, he appeared in 13 games on special teams for the Tar Heels. In 2024 as a sophomore, Short played in all 13 games for North Carolina, recording a season-high five tackles against Duke. He then spent the 2025 season at Virginia Tech, playing in four games with 22 tackles, four tackles for loss, and one sack. Short posted 11 tackles in his first career start against Vanderbilt.
