Preston Jernegan is an inside linebacker for Stanford at 6'2" and 230 pounds. The Altadena, California native attended St. Francis High School in La Cañada, where he recorded over 300 total tackles across four years and earned three-time All-Angeles League First Team and three-time All-CIF First Team honors. He also lettered in basketball and track and field, graduating Summa Cum Laude. Jernegan joined Stanford as a freshman in 2024 but did not appear in games that season. He retained redshirt eligibility and remains on the roster as a redshirt sophomore.
