Omari Gaines is a safety for Stanford at 6'2", 200 pounds, from Newark, New Jersey. He attended Malcolm X Shabazz High School, where he was a four-year letterwinner and led the Bulldogs to consecutive sectional state championships in 2023 and 2024. In his senior season, Gaines recorded 51 tackles, six touchdowns, two tackles-for-loss, one fumble recovery, and four interceptions. He earned First Team All-National White North Group 2 Super Football Conference honors in 2023 and was named Essex County's No. 1 player in 2024. Gaines joined Stanford as a redshirt freshman in 2025 after being a three-star recruit rated 0.8622.
