Jaylen'Dai Sumlin is a 6'2", 200-pound free safety from Castaic, California, where he attended Sierra Canyon High School. As a recruit, he ranked among the top ten California safeties according to recruiting services. During his 2024 freshman season, Sumlin appeared in 10 games with one start, recording 12 tackles, one tackle-for-loss, and one pass breakup. He earned All-ACC Academic honors and had his best performance in the Big Game against California with four tackles. In 2025, his sophomore year, Sumlin played in four games and made special teams tackles in consecutive September contests. He retains redshirt eligibility and continues his tenure with Stanford.
