Ethan Hampton is a quarterback from Elburn, Illinois who attended Aurora Christian HS before playing at Illinois and Northern Illinois. At Aurora Christian, he was a three-year letterwinner and 2019 Most Valuable Player who set school records including 8 touchdown passes in a game and a 60% career completion percentage. Hampton appeared in two games as a backup at Northern Illinois in 2021 before redshirting. In 2022, he started three games and completed 72-of-122 passes for 798 yards and seven touchdowns before an injury ended his season. He played in four games in 2023, completing 19-of-33 passes for 147 yards and two touchdowns. In 2024, Hampton started 10 games for NIU, completing 144-of-247 passes for 1,600 yards and 12 touchdowns, including a 198-yard, one-touchdown performance in a 16-14 upset win at No. 5 Notre Dame on September 7. Hampton transferred to Southern Miss as a returning senior.
