Derrick "Tre" Nichols III is a safety from Miami, FL who attended American Heritage High School. Over three seasons, he accumulated 89 tackles and eight tackles for loss. As a junior, he posted 55 tackles and five tackles for loss on a team that won the Florida 4A State Championship. In his senior year, he recorded 30 tackles, three tackles for loss and an interception as American Heritage reached the Florida 4A State Championship semifinals.
