He enrolled at South Carolina in summer 2024 and redshirted his freshman year on the scout team without appearing in games. During spring 2025 drills, Burger worked primarily at Nickel before sustaining a right knee injury during fall camp that required surgery, sidelining him for the entire season. He is a management major currently in his redshirt sophomore year with the Gamecocks.
