Zane Carter is a 6'4", 230-pound linebacker for San José State. The Ventura, California native played football, basketball, baseball, and golf at Buena High School, where he served as a two-year captain in football and basketball. Carter earned football MVP honors all four years and was named county player of the year as a senior, along with All-CIF selections his junior and senior seasons. He played two seasons at Ventura College, recording 76 tackles and two interceptions in 2023, including a 30-yard pick-six against Fullerton, and earning All-State and All-Conference honors. In 2024, Carter posted 88 tackles with five interceptions, one pick-six, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery, garnering All-American, All-State, and All-Conference recognition. He missed the 2025 season due to injury.
