Ethan Powell is a 6'2", 220-pound STAR from San Bernardino, California, who attended Cajon High School where he played football and track. He joined San José State in 2022, appearing in 10 games with six tackles. After redshirting in 2023, Powell recorded a breakout 2024 season with 43 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, one sack, one interception, and three pass breakups across 12 games. In 2025, he posted 37 tackles including a career-high 26 unassisted tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, and two quarterback hurries. Powell, a returning redshirt senior, earned preseason All-Mountain West honors for 2026.
