Zion Taylor is a 6'1", 225-pound right defensive end from Missouri City, TX, who attended Shadow Creek High School before transferring to Sam Houston. At Shadow Creek, the 3-star prospect recorded 72 tackles, 50 solo stops, 15.5 sacks, and 20 quarterback hurries across 28 games, including a career-high 28 tackles and 9.5 tackles for loss in 2023. He earned Texas District 23-6A First Team All-District honors in 2022 and Defensive Newcomer of the Year as a sophomore in 2021. Taylor made his collegiate debut in the 2024 season finale against BYU on November 30, appearing on 9 snaps entirely on special teams. He redshirted during the 2025 season and currently is a redshirt sophomore/transfer.
