Zacharia Cody is a left cornerback who transferred to Rice from Coastal Carolina. The 6'0", 172-pound defensive back appeared in 16 games across two seasons with the Chanticleers. In 2024 as a true freshman, he logged 207 defensive snaps and recorded 15 tackles, including one tackle for loss, while playing in 12 games. During the 2025 season, he appeared in four games with two starts, posting four tackles and one pass breakup on 93 defensive snaps. At Coppell High School in Texas, Cody was a unanimous All-District 6-6A selection as a senior and earned second-team all-district honors as a junior. He was ranked as a three-star prospect in the Class of 2024.
