Jamir Benjamin is a right cornerback who transferred to Rice from UCLA. The 5'10", 185-pound defender from Lansing, Michigan, played in 13 games across his first two seasons at UCLA, compiling nine tackles with a fumble recovery and one special teams touchdown. In 2025, Benjamin appeared in all 12 games, recording nine tackles including a season-high three at Indiana, while returning a fumble recovery for a touchdown against Washington on November 22. He logged 67 defensive snaps and 138 special teams plays in that campaign. At West Bloomfield High School, Benjamin earned two-time MHSFCA First Team All-State honors and helped win a regional championship in 2023.
