Maxwell Barbee is a 6'2", 195-pound defensive back from Long Beach, California, where he attended Wilson High School. As a senior, Barbee recorded 55 tackles, seven interceptions, and 17 passes defended while also making 68 receptions for 1,220 yards and 12 touchdowns. His receptions, receiving yards, and interceptions each set single-season school records. He earned First Team All-Moore League honors, All-CIF Division 9 Team selection, and Press-Telegram Football Dream Team First Team Defense recognition. Barbee redshirted during his freshman year at Purdue, appearing in one game.
