Alex Honig is a 6'6", 275-pound tight end from Bavaria who played high school football at Schwäbisch Hall. He began his college career at TCU, redshirting in 2021 and appearing in 12 of 15 games in 2022, primarily on special teams while earning first-team Academic All-Big 12 honors. After transferring to UConn, Honig appeared in the first two games of 2023 before suffering an injury at Georgia State that ended his season. In 2024, he played in 11 games and caught six passes for 59 yards and three touchdowns. During the 2025 redshirt senior season, Honig appeared in all 12 regular season games with seven starts, recording 13 receptions for 162 yards and three receiving touchdowns while adding one rush for 26 yards.
