Avery Jones is a defensive back from Columbia, Missouri who attended Mount St. Joseph high school. He played college football at Lafayette College before transferring to Northern Illinois. At Lafayette in 2024, Jones appeared in nine games and recorded five tackles on special teams, while also catching five passes for 65 yards against Holy Cross on October 26. In 2025, he finished with 47 tackles, three interceptions and a pass defensed after transitioning from wide receiver. Jones recorded a season-high nine tackles at Georgetown and had two interceptions against Colegate. The senior stands 6'0" and weighs 188 pounds.
