Nathan Hayes is a redshirt senior quarterback at North Dakota State from West Chicago, Illinois. Hayes graduated from St. Charles East High School in 2022 as a three-year starter and team captain, finishing with 3,400 passing yards and 28 touchdowns. He redshirted in 2022, appeared in three games as a freshman in 2023, and played in five contests as a sophomore in 2024, completing 12 of 19 passes for 214 yards and three touchdowns while rushing seven times for 90 yards. In 2025, Hayes appeared in 10 games as backup quarterback, completing 25 of 44 attempts for 381 yards and four passing touchdowns.
