James Nellis is an offensive guard from Grafton, Wisconsin, where he attended Grafton High School. At Grafton HS, Nellis was a three-year starter and four-year letterman under coach James Norris, earning two team captain designations. He recorded 57 career tackles and five sacks while helping the team to a 31-7 record as a starter and a state runner-up finish. Nellis earned all-state honors, two all-region selections, and three all-conference awards, including Woodland Conference Lineman of the Year. He joined North Dakota State as a true freshman and redshirted during the 2025 season. Nellis, who stands 6'3" and weighs 290 pounds, is majoring in business.
