Billy Edwards Jr. is a 6'3", 228-pound quarterback from Springfield, VA, who attended Lake Braddock High School. Edwards redshirted his freshman season at Wake Forest in 2021 before transferring to Maryland, where he appeared in seven games as a redshirt freshman in 2022. In 2023, he started the TransPerfect Music City Bowl and earned MVP honors, posting seven rushing touchdowns on the season. During his 2024 redshirt junior year at Maryland, Edwards started 11 games and ranked second in the Big Ten with 261.9 passing yards per game. He threw for 373 yards on 39-of-50 passing against USC and posted a 78 percent completion percentage in that contest. Edwards transferred to North Carolina and is a redshirt senior for the 2026 season.
